Diego Maradona Argentina Football Legend Dies At 60

The world's football legend Diego Maradona has died at the age of 60.


The former Argentina midfielder and manager suffered a heart attack at his home in Buenos Airs.


In November, he had a successful brain surgery for a blood clot. He struggled with alcohol dependency for a long time and was to be treated for it before his demise.


The football world have been paying tribute to the legend since the announcement of his passing.

Translation: "The world bids farewell to an eternal genius. One of the best of all time. An unparalleled magician. He leaves us too soon, but leaves a legacy without limits and a void that will never be filled. RIP. You will never be forgotten."


Barcelona was the first club outside of Argentina that Maradona played for. He scored 22 goals in 36 appearance between 1982 and 1984.


Another former club, Napoli, of Maradona paid tribute. He played for the club between 1984 and 1991, making 188 appearances.


Boca Juniors, where Maradona enjoyed two spells and finished his career, twitted: "Eternal thanks. Eternal Diego" to their former player.
