Nigerian virologist popularly called pastor Adu responds to questions about Coronavirus (COVID -19) in the comfort of his home.

Pastor Adu worked at The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - which is the leading national public health institute of the United States - as a visiting researcher/ visiting virologist up till 2009.

In the interview below, he explains in detail that the Coronavirus is an RNA virus - a virus that has RNA (ribonucleic acid) as its genetic material - and the receptors of this virus are in the lungs and upper respiratory parts of the body.

For those of us wondering how the name 'corona' came about, Pastor Adu says the virus was name coronavirus because "the proteins surrounding the virus forms a 'crown' which in latin means 'corona'. "

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and humans. Common signs of infections symptoms are: fever, cough, shortness of breath (SOB) and other breathing difficulties. More severe cases could be pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death - with increased rate in the elderly.
