Pharrell Williams Threatens To Sue Trump For Playing "Happy" At An Event

American singer Pharrell Williams has sent President Trump a cease and desist letter for playing his song "Happy" at a rally last Saturday.

On Saturday was one of the saddest days in the country after a deranged 'nationality' shot and killed 11 people (8 men and 3 women) at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.

Coincidentally, Trump was scheduled for two events on that same day of the terrible attack which has been marked the deadliest attack on Jews in U.S. history. His first visit was at a Future Farmers of America convention in Indianapolis while the other visit was at Make America Great Again rally in Murphysboro, Illinois.

While the crowd in Indianpolis waited for Trump, Washington Post reported that they danced to Cyndy Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Some Fun" and Pharrell Williams's hit song "Happy."

Williams did not find this funny and he threatened to take legal action against the President for an unauthorized use of his song.

On Monday, the singer's lawyer Howard King, sent Trump a cease-and-desist letter stating that the use of "Happy" without permission constituted copyright infringement and a trademark violation.

"On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged 'nationalist,' you played his song 'Happy' to a crowd at a political event in Indiana," it read.

"There was nothing 'happy' about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose."

The letter stated clearly that Williams's cease and desist would apply to all of his songs, not just "Happy."

"Pharrell has not, and will not, grant you permission to publicly perform or otherwise broadcast or disseminate any of his music," the letter stated.
