Ghanaian President Reacts To Viral Video of Policeman Assaulting a Woman

President Nana Akufo - Addo has publicly condemned the conduct of police officer Godzi Frederick Amanor also known as Skalla.

During the speech on Saturday July 21, 2018 the president said: “Yesterday, we had some very bad news in Accra – police beating up a woman who had gone to get money at the Midland Loans and Savings Company. I want to say here: policemen are meant to protect citizens and not to assault citizens.”

President Nana also said he is fully in support of the IGP's action against the "bad" officer.

We learned that the officer has been interdicted and being processed for court. His uniform and other police accoutrements has been seized "pending internal disciplinary proceedings."

What a shame?
