Kanye And Kim Kardashian Names Their Newborn Daughter After A City

Just when we thought Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian we done with coming up with very "uncommon" names for their kids, the lovebirds who welcomed their child on Tuesday via a surrogate, named their newborn daughter Chicago West. The baby's name was announced by Kim Kardashion on her Twitter.

According to E! "Kanye came up with the name and Kim loved the significance behind the name. It was a mutual decision, which they discussed and agreed upon together." Also we learned that the name is a way for the rap artist to honor his hometown."

The short form of the name is "Chi" as in the nickname of the Chicago "Chi-Town" but Kim said it's pronounced as "Shy".

Though Kanye was born in Atlanta, he moved with his family to Chicago when he was three years old of age. They lived in the Windy City until he turned 10 after which they moved to Nanjing, China -where his mother taught at the Nanjing University.

While the West family are loving the name of their new baby girl for everything it stands for, some of the fans are not happy with the choice of name.
