Facebook To Donate $1 Million To Recovery Effort In Mexico

To help victims of the disastrous earthquake that occurred in Mexico on Tuesday, Facebook will be contributing $1 million to Cruz Roja Mexinana Sede Nacional to support the relief efforts on ground.

The social media website is also partnering with UNICEF to waive fees on all donations to made to their organization via Facebook.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck near the town of Raboso in Puebla state on Tuesday afternoon, marked the second powerful quake to hit Mexico in last than two weeks, after an 8.1 magnitude earthquake struck off the country's Pacific coast 12 days earlier.
