President Trump Has Fired FBI Director James Comey

President Trump on Tuesday, has been fired Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey.

"President Trump acted based on the clear recommendations of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions," White House statement reads.

The news of Comey termination has raised a lot of suspicion about President Trump's administration because of the timing and reasoning behind the firing. Comey was overseeing the Russia-Trump investigation when his service was abruptly unplugged.

According to CNN, James Comey never saw this coming. He was at a Press Conference with FBI Agents in Los Angeles, California when he learned from television news report that President Trump had terminated his services. Initially, the former FBI director played it out as a joke until he confirmed the sad news via a phone call to the White House.

In the signed letter released at 5:45 PM, Trump told James Comey that he is "hereby terminated and removed from office, effective immediately," citing that Comey is "not able to effectively lead the bureau."

“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau,” Mr. Trump said.

"It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission," Trump wrote, a statement that provoked officers.

The President concluded his message saying "I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors."

James Comey only served three years into the usual 10-year term.

In the main time, Andrew G. McCabe is now the acting FBI Director pending when the President appoints and the Senate confirms a new FBI Director.

Since Comey was fired in the middle of a Trump's Campaign investigation, there will be pressure for an Independent Investigation.
