U.S. Appeals Court Upholds Suspension of Trump's Travel Ban

A three-judge panel on thursday unanimously upheld a temporary suspension of President Trump's travel ban against entry into the United States by refugees and travelers from seven majority-Muslim nations.

The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruling refused to overturn Trump's order filed by the states of Washington and Minnesota.

"[We] hold that the Government has not shown a likelihood of success on the merits of its appeal, nor has it shown that failure to enter a stay would cause irreparable injury, and we therefore deny its emergency motion for a stay," wrote the panel.

To determine the final outcome of this case, the U.S. Supreme Court will have to step in.

To which Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat who leads one of the states that challenged the ban, reponded: "Mr. President, we just saw you in court, and we beat you."
