What Green Card Holders need to know President Trump's Executive Order

With the ongoing protest against President Trump's executive orders on immigration, nobody really knows what to expect in the next 30 days. The president's order bars citizens of 7 countries (Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Sudan and Yemen) from coming into the United States for the next 90 days.

Green Card holders before now had some immunity as long as they abided to the Laws and Regulations of the United States. Sadly with the recent order of President Trump, a green card holder in the U.S. is almost no different from a visa holder. You could be denied entry into the country and be sent back to whereever you were coming from.

Therefore, to protect oneself, it is advisable to keep yourself informed on immigrations Laws. I received this message from a friend and thought I should share it with anyone affected by this new order in the country.

If anyone you know is coming into this country, tell them not to sign this - this form strips you of your residency. People might get bullied into signing this. It seems right now that customs agents are looking at green card holders on a case by case basis - so make sure you or someone you know doesn't sign this. Meanwhile, FoxNews reports that Canada will be offering temporary residency permits to travelers who become stranded here by President Donald Trump's order banning travelers from seven Muslim-majority nations, the immigration minister said Sunday. Ahmed Hussen, a Somali refugee, was recently named Canada's immigration minister. He said no one is currently stranded at the country's airports by the ban. Hussen said White House officials have offered assurances that permanent Canadian residents can enter the U.S. if they have a valid Canadian permanent resident card and a passport from one of the countries affected. Permanent residents are the equivalent of green card holders in the United States. Dual citizens with a Canadian passport can still enter the U.S.
