Burn Survivor Shares Stunning Maternity Photos

Jacksonville, Florida burn survivor, Andrea Grant maternity photo shoot is undoubtedly beautiful, but the story behind it all is inspirational.

At the age of 9, Andrea and her brother suffered a third-degree burn with over 85% of her body burn in a house fire -the result of a gas explosion. Fortunately, Grant recovered but was told she would never be able to carry a baby past four months. The scarring, Doctors said, would prevent the skin around her belly from stretching enough to carry a child to full term.

Today, Grant has defied the odds by proving doctors wrong. She is 37 weeks pregnant and she feels better than ever!

In a pregnancy photo shoot with photographer Terrance Armand, Grant felt very comfortable showing off her grown belly despite her flawed skin. She posted the photo on her Instagram account and “It was just like – 1,000, 2,000, 10,000. 100 shares. This celebrity posting it and that celebrity posting it,” Armand said.

The photos has gone viral ever since they were posted. Grant now has 45,000 followers and counting; making her a star beyond Jacksonville.

As the founder of a group called "Beyond Scars" she is using the platform to encourage other burn victims. She wants them to understand that “Once you build up your confidence, no one can take it down.”
