The 2016 BET Awards was held on June 26, 2016, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony celebrates mass achievements in black entertainment and honors music, sports, television, and motion pictures released between April 1, 2015 and March 30, 2016. Anthony Anderson and Tracy Ellis Ross hosted the beautiful event.
As promised by BET, this year's event was spectacular! The night kicked off with Beyonce's and her well choreographed dancers all looking like African warriors as they performed to 'Freedom' the anthemic track from Beyoncé’s album Lemonade. Kendrick Lamar joined Beyonce on the converted to a shallow pool stage and together, they took the song to a whole different level.
