René Angélil, husband of canadian Singer Celine Dion, died on Thursday. Dion's publicist confirmed to CNN that "René Angélil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer."

According to a post on Dion's website: "The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time."

The Beauty and The Beast singer, stood by her man through out his fight against cancer. She said she'd be there until the end, to support "the only boyfriend I've ever had." He had told her that he would like to die in her arms and she responded: "OK, fine, I'll be there, you'll die in my arms."

Dion was only 12 when she met Angélil, and who later became her manager and, in 1994, her husband. They have three children: René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy.

René Angélil also has three adult children from his two previous marriages: Patrick, Jean Pierre and Anne Marie.

May his soul rest in peace.
