IVF Clinics around the world report increased number of 'virgin mom." According to four popular British IVF Clinics, in the past five years, there has been at least 25 births to mothers who have never had sexual intercourse.

These women have different reasons for choosing to avoid the traditional method of conceiving. While some simply said they have not met that special someone, many admitted to fear of sex. However, under this circumstances, IVF procedure is not covered by the NHS, therefore, these women pay £5,000 to get the procedure performed.

This new trend has outraged conservatives and religious groups who believe that the babies are the ones who would have to suffer the consequences of not having that father figure in their lives. The Bishop of Carlisle also stated that such decision could damage society.

Josephine Quintavalle, of the group Comment on Reproductive Ethics said “The message from nature is for a male and female to have a child, and I am saddened that we are willing to distort this. The diminished role of the father is not desirable for the child. Once you start down this route, where do you stop?"

We stand for Freedom of Choice but, what do you think about this new movement?
