2015 Ankara Festival Los Angeles

The 2015 Ankara African Fashion and Music festival was on September 12, 2015. The 6th annual showcase was held at The Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles, California and hosted by 'ever young and beautiful' Stella Damasus and Duain Richmond best known as FELA.

This year's event was quite different from last year's. The models were so much fun. With bold black and gold artistic makeup, they walked the runway, danced a little bit to African songs and also did some choreographed fashion moves which made the clothes look even more stylish.

Stella Damasus and Duain Richmond did a great job. Thumbs up! Artists Chibbz , Meatu and Mobeatz nailed their performance. However, Eddy Kenzo of Uganda stole the show when he sang his hit song Sitya Loss. The hall shoke and the audience went bananas as they sang along with him.

Peter "Lentini" Efezokhare has made us proud again. Each year, there is a new twist in AFLA because the mission of the showcase, is to connect communities, cultures and continents through talents and creativity of designers and musical acts.

The producers are always spicing things up. We wonder what plans they have for 2016? I have a little idea though. Let me spill the beans: NYC is going to be part of the 2016 package for sure, but there is always more.......... Wink!.
