"When A Man Loves A Woman" Singer Percy Sledge Dead At 73

R&B soul singer, Percy Sledge who was best known for his 1966 hit song "When a Man Loves a Woman" has died. He died on Tuesday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was 73.
The news of his death was confirmed by Dr. William "Beau" Clark, coroner for East Baton Rouge Parish who also said that the singer died of natural causes about an hour after midnight while in hospice care.
Sledge whose career kicked off in 1960, had a couple of songs such as "Take Time to Know Her," "Warm and Tender Love" and "It Tears Me Up," but his biggest hit of them all was "When a Man Loves a Woman". The song went on to become the No. 1 pop and soul hit in 1966 and was awarded a million-selling, Gold-certified disc from the RIAA.
