Christmas trajedy! This festive period one family is definitely not enjoying the Christmas. The Morrison family's worse fear has finally come to pass. On Friday, the body of autistic 4-year-old Jayden Morrison, was found in a pond close to the family house in South Carolina. He went missing on Christmas Eve while visiting his grandparents.
According to The Sun News, Jayden has been at his grandmother's house and was reported missing at about 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Jayden who was autistic and nonverbal, traveled with his family family New York City to Little River, South Carolina for holiday.
Sadly, while Jayden and his two other siblings were left in the care of their grandmother, Carolyn Sumpter, Jayden strayed out of the house. The family did say there was a “brief lapse in supervision” while his grandmother watched him. She reportedly found the front door open, as his siblings were watching television.
The boy's mother, Tabatha Morrison, who went shopping at Walmart said "Mom called me at the store and said she couldn't find him,"
"He's never done anything like this before. He's 4 years old. He's never been out of my eyesight." She added.
Hundreds of volunteers, police and rescue crews began a third day of searching for the young boy in remote areas and bodies of water before his body was found, according to the Horry County Police Department.
Jayden's body was found after authorities lowered the pond levels.
