William Pooley, the British nurse who contracted Ebola while volunteering in Sierra Leone, has returned back to the country to work at an isolation unit run by UK medical staff.

He said he couldn't be slefish and remain idle and watch people dies in Africa. There was a "real emergency" in the Country and "I am delighted to be back, " he added.

“I chose to go before and it was the right thing to do then and it’s still the right thing to do now,” Pooley told the Guardian.

Pooley who resumed work at a hospital in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, on Monday, believes his immune system can fight the virusto some extent, but he is not sure about duration of immunity.

According to BBC Health News, doctors are not certain how long his immunity will last or whether he is completely resistant. But Mr Pooley said: "It's massively safer for me to work there now than it was before."

Scientists do not know how long this immunity lasts - it could be lifelong or it may wane.

Poley who recovered from Ebola after receiving the experimental drug ZMapp, has donated some of his blood in case it offers clues about how to kill the virus.

This is what I call a selfless act of bravery.
