Former 'American Idol' Contestant Joanne Borgella Dies At 32

Joanne Borgella a contestant on season 7 of former 'American Idol' is dead. She passed away on Saturday morning after battling with a rare cancer.
The news of her death was announced by her grieving family via her Facebook page and it read:
To God be the glory! With heavy hearts, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Joanne.On Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 5:45AM, Joanne Borgella Ramirez was called by the Lord to heaven.At an early age, Joanne made a choice to serve and trust the Lord; and since her diagnosis over a year ago, Joanne made a choice to also be a fighter and share her journey with the world. Her faith, courage and strength were unshaken throughout every obstacle she encountered. Although our family is suffering with this great loss, we find comfort in the closeness Joanne shared with the Lord. We know her spirit still shines and will continue to live on in heaven.

In 2008, Borgella entered for the American Idol contest and made it to the top 24. Three years later, she featured in a reality TV series called 'Mo'Nique's Fat Chance' and won its contest to find the ideal plus-sized model.
Life after being on these two major television shows, opened bigger doors to the singer. She did several professional modeling and even launched her own clothing line.
Last year, while very ill, she did a video for her fans, announcing that she was diagnosed with a rare cancer that had already spread to her chest. She continued sharing the details about her treatment on her Facebook page.
A promising life that was cut so short. May her soul rest in peace. Amen.
